Information
This lovely cello is an exact copy of the Davidov Stradivari which was made in 1712 and shares very many features of size, outline and quality of materials with other early instruments such as the Duport of a year earlier. The opportunity to make this precise copy was a great privilege for me as it involved spending a lot of time with the original cello making uncommonly careful notes about its construction. This experience gave me the greatest respect for Antonio Stradivari all that time ago who, I'm sure, will not be bettered in my lifetime!
